Here is the story!
Today I was speaking to a lady, not Nigerian, who works two jobs. One is 4days a week and the other is 5days a week. Both are full time. One night, one day. I had to ask her why she needs to work that much. Her response gave me the shivers.
She said cos her husband runs a restaurant but since Covid, he hasn’t been able to open. The help from the government goes towards the rent. So I asked her again, why isn’t he working then at least till he can open shop again?
Her response:
Her husband is 60 and hasn’t worked all his life. How is he supposed to work now? All he’s ever known is his business. She has been working so she understands how the working system works. She said lock down will be lifted soon and he’ll get back on his feet.
But for now, she needs to do this to support her family. Told her she’s an amazing woman and her husband is lucky to have her. A lot of people will NOT understand this. A LOT!
